genufine61 Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Used Hotwire to purchase a Condo in North Myrtle Beach, SC listed with the following amenities:Beachfront PropertyPoolRestaurantLaundry Facility (self-service)Golf nearbyTennis nearbyKitchenetteHotel won is Grande Shores Condos which Hotwire lists as a 3.5 star but other sites list as a 3 star.Overall, I am quite disappointed with this win. 1st of all, there is a 15% resort fee per night with no great additional amenities. And also, after I won, I checked the hotel site and their regular room rates were advertised for $77.00; less than what I paid on Hotwire. If I used my husband's military discount to reserve this hotel through their site, we could have saved almost $15 per night compared what we paid on Hotwire. So to reiterate, very disappointed. I did contact Hotwire and filed a claim for their low price guarantee. They have yet to get back with me.
