Priceline Hotel: Resort Maui (Wailea - Makena) Wailea Beach Marriott Resort And Spa

I was looking at the forums and it seems that my price was much higher than what others were looking to pay. I started my bid at $140 for resorts. And, I guess another big difference between me and some others is that this trip is 2 weeks away...so very last minute! I really wanted to get the bid today (maybe a bad thing). I checked hotwire prior to bidding and noticed that they didn't even have any resorts or 4*s available for the dates I wanted. I guess that made me nervous about the number of rooms left at the resorts and 4*s.

Anyway, I am happy with the price we paid since it was last minute and I was hoping to pay at most $1k total for a resort for 4 nights.

Not a bad result for this last-minute stay, and glad you are satisfied with the result. The cheapest rate on Expedia on sale is nearly $300 for these dates for this property.

I forgot to note that yes, I did use the PRICELINE link since your forums are definitely very helpful.

Also, the lowest hotel rate I could find through various sites was $350 per night (including taxes) for a resort in Wailea or Kaanapali. Hotels.com was having a "promotion" and advertised the rate as $288 per night, but then their taxes and fees just ended up being an entire night's stay! In total, I paid $230 per night (incl taxes, fees).

With the higher taxes/fees off of the higher hotels.com/Marriott rates, the $200 deal is definitely a great result. Hope the hotel itself will work well for your travel plans, too. :)

I think you should feel good about the price. I bid on PRICELINE "resorts" and Wailea at $154 and it was turned down for Memorial Day weekend in May. I will try agagin tomorrow.
