Vacation4Fun Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Are Resorts nicer than 4 stars? If I am wanting to book a room in Wailea - Grand Wailea, Marriott, etc - would I select 4 stars or Resorts?Thank you!
thereuare Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. Not sure which service (PRICELINE or HOTWIRE) you're considering and the answer differs depending which service you are using...PRICELINE - 'Resort' hotels are considered higher rated than 4*. There may be a fine line between each, and just as with any star rating there may some hotels at the lower star rating that you prefer more than those at the higher star rating, but with PRICELINE you should consder the 'resort' category to be a 4.5* hotel... rated higher than 4* properties but lower than 5* properties.HOTWIRE - does use 'resort' as a category, but rather as a hotel description. They use 'resort' as a listed amenity to describe a property, so you may see hotels at any star level described as 'resort'.You can see hotels reported to the board at each star level, and thru each service, in the respective Priceline Hotel List and Hotwire Hotel List... this should give you a 'feel' for what to expect at each star level and thru each service, but of course what you decide to try for my be predicated by your budget.Let us know any further questions you have and once you decide how you'd like to proceed, let us know the details of your trip (dates, desired star rating, budget zones, etc) and we'll try to assist further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
