Priceline Hotel: 4* New York City (Midtown East) Omni Berkshire Place

This is the first time that I'm using Priceline, so would appreciate any tips or suggestions! We need 2 rooms from Saturday March 31 to Friday April 6 and are looking for a 4* hotel. Would prefer the TSQ and MTW areas for $150/night max, but then would include HK and MSG if unsuccessful. If that was unsuccessful, would move to ESB and MTE. Does this sounds reasonable for that time of year? I can see 7 re-bid areas that don't have 4*/5* hotels to add, and would go like this:

MTW $110

Add TSQ $115

Add re-bid 1 $120

Add re-bid 2 $125

Add re-bid 3 $130

Add re-bid 4 $135

Add re-bid 5 $140

Add re-bid 6 $145

Add re-bid 7 $150

Am I starting too high/low?

If unsuccessful, I'd open a new window (with the PRICELINE links above) and try:

HK $110

Add MSG $115

Add re-bid 1 $120

Add re-bid 2 $125

Add re-bid 3 $130

Add re-bid 4 $135

Add re-bid 5 $140

Add re-bid 6 $145

Add re-bid 7 $150

If unsuccessful, I'd open a new window (with the PRICELINE links above) and try:

MTE $110

Add ESB $115

Add re-bid 1 $120

Add re-bid 2 $125

Add re-bid 3 $130

Add re-bid 4 $135

Add re-bid 5 $140

Add re-bid 6 $145

Add re-bid 7 $150

Does this sound ok? I'm not sure if this time of year is more expensive because of Easter (even though we would check-out on Good Friday). Or is it worth starting lower, as I don't mind waiting a few days to bid again...

Thanks in advance :)

Ok, I just realised that MSG doesn't have any 4* hotels, so would alter the second attempt as follows:

HK $115

Add re-bid 1 $120

Add re-bid 2 $125

Add re-bid 3 $130

Add re-bid 4 $135

Add re-bid 5 $140

Add re-bid 6 $145

Add re-bid 7 $150

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Based upon current rates i think that $150 may be a bit of a stretch for a 4* for this stay at this time (current rates suggest a bit closer to $160-$180, imo), but with time on your on side you can certainly give it a try, but i'd amend your strategy somewhat, as you can use the zones of your previously failed bids as re-bid zones on your subsequent bidding, as follows:

MTW $110

Add TSQ $115

Add re-bid 1 $120

Add re-bid 2 $125

Add re-bid 3 $130

Add re-bid 4 $135

Add re-bid 5 $140

Add re-bid 6 $145

Add re-bid 7 $150

If unsuccessful, I'd open a new window (with the PRICELINE links above) and try:

HK $105

Add MTW bid $110

Add TSQ bid $115

Add re-bid 1 $120

Add re-bid 2 $125

Add re-bid 3 $130

Add re-bid 4 $135

Add re-bid 5 $140

Add re-bid 6 $145

Add re-bid 7 $150

If unsuccessful, I'd open a new window (with the PRICELINE links above) and try:

MTE $110

Add ESB $115

Add MTW $120

Add TSQ $125

Add HK $130

Add re-bid 1 $135

Add re-bid 2 $138

Add re-bid 3 $140

Add re-bid 4 $143

Add re-bid 5 $145

Add re-bid 6 $148

Add re-bid 7 $150
