sec119 Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 I had tried bidding $190 for a weeklong stay (see previous winning priceline bid thread) in a 5* that didn't get accepted in Mayfair. This evening, I bid $200 for a 5* in Mayfair for one night only at the Sofitel St. James. It seems like the length of time really matters! So, if you are staying less than a week, then somewhere less than $200 is a good starting point, although I have no quibbles with this. Hope this helps! Please use PRICELINE link here.
thereuare Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see that you're pleased with this purchase and looking forward to your trip. Not only is the length of stay an issue, but more importantly, rates during the stay... if the rate for the nite above is very high but the rates for the week long stay are quite low, then it may actually be easier to win the longer stay (since rates are substantially lower)... not saying that is the case here, but just given a scenario where it could be the case, and how rates really are date specific.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
