Hello I have never been to Chicago before and i will be going this weekend. We are wanting to stay somewhere where we can get to nightlife rather easily, Walking if possible. What part of town is the most happening area at night. We are both 40 and love to go out. Sports bars and Chicago dogs are a must...We will be there 2/17-2/19.

The NMA area (which on HOTWIRE is split into the Mag Mile/Streeterville area for the South half and the NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast area for the North half) is really your best bet for more in the way of restaurants/nightlife.

In terms of a particular budget, it helps to know what to suggest; additionally, are you are looking to push towards a four star or would you be more interested in going towards a more reasonable 3*?

Rates are not high for these dates.

HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the NMA zone for just $82 with 95% recommendation by previous HOTWIRE guests and very high ratings (4.5/5.0 on all counts except location which gets a 5.0/5.0) for the criteria HOTWIRE asks previous guests to comment on. Unfortunately the amenities (Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business) are very common for the area and the Allerton, Millennium Knickerbocker, Sutton Place, The Avenue, The Drake, Westin Michigan Avenue and Whitehall have all been seen with this amenity set. (AaronJB may be able to guess as to which one of these may be more likely than the others based upon the 'excellent location' and high comments on all other counts), but this does seem to be a 'winner'. Assuming this is within your budget, you could either go with this one thru HOTWIRE OR try bidding for a lower rate on PRICELINE... but with PRICELINE you can receive any hotel in the zone at the star rating you bid, and the property may not be as well reviewed or located as this one appears to be.

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Thanks for your help, I purchased it through your HOTWIRE link for hotwire and I got The Drake, looks like a great place, is it best to park there? Or there any other places nearby that would be cheaper, we do not plan on driving anywhere once we park.

Congrats on your success. :)

You definitely lucked out; this is a fantastic rate for what is really a classic Chicago property, right at the top of the North Michigan Ave. area. Navy Pier is a city parking option, but it's rather on the far side from this property. I'd suggest looking at garages nearby - there are a number of them located the blocks around the hotel, such as at Hancock Towers and the 900 North Michigan Ave mall, although you'll have to check hours/rates. Central Parking's website has a detailed list of their garages - http://chicago.centralparking.com
