Priceline Hotel: 5* London (Notting Hill - Bayswater) The Hempel

First attempt yesterday was 5* in Mayfair for $190. No luck, so I added Notting Hill - Bayswater and upped to $200, which was accepted by The Hempel in Notting Hill -- Bayswater. Perhaps I am reading the map incorrectly, but at that time, and even now, priceline is not showing a 5* in that area on its map, although if you try to book a 5* PL will tell you that a 5* does exist but is not available.

This was a little of a surprise to me when I booked, but the hotel looks to be reasonably close to my original area and the price is ok (retail is $265). I do hope that the hotel lives up to its billing!

Perhaps I am reading the map incorrectly... and even now, priceline is not showing a 5* in that area on its map...

What map is it that you're looking at... on the 'retail' side of PRICELINE where the hotel names and prices are shown? If so, the 'retail' side and the 'bidding' side of PRICELINE each use a different universe of hotels, and also use different zone names and boundaries for different areas. The correct, and only, way to determine your re-bid zones is described here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, and use this procedure it is evident that the 'Notting Hill-Bayswater' zone does include 5* properties.
