mamber Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Hello- My husband and I are looking for advice for the Miami South beach zone for the dates of Feb 19-24 (coming soon!).Our price range is $200/night, but ideally, we would spend under $1000 for the 5 days, tax included. We don't know the Miami very well (being from Canada), so would gladly take suggestions for other beach areas--We were thinking 4 star-- and although amenities on priceline are not guaranteed- we would love a nice pool areawhere we could rent a cabana-- and free internet would be a huge plus.I've never used hotwire-- but from what I've read you can select amenities somehow?Anyway- we may be way off base for price, but thought we would try :)Thanks!Amber
thereuare Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. With HOTWIRE you can't "pick" the amenities, but the amenities offered by the hotel are shown before your purchase... so you can, for example, know if the hotel is located on the beach or not (by the hotel showing 'Beachfront' ... or is near with the 'Near Beach' designation). With this information you can also take an educated guess as to the hotel being offered. With PRICELINE, as you've indicated, there is no way to know the amenities the hotel will have, if it's on the beach, or guess as to what you might receive before your purchase. The trade-off is that PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE. For additional info, see this I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire thread.Let us know any questions you have and/or how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. I'll add that i did take a quick look at rates for your dates and i suspect you might succeed near the $200/nite mark, but making this 'all-in' (including taxes and fees) may be a bit tougher... but if you decide to go the PRICELINE route let us know which zone(s) are acceptable and your maximum bid price and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
