lasongman Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Any advice on whether it might be possible to get a 5 star (other than the Trump) for under $100 per night checking in March 31, 2012 and checking out April 2, 2012? I need 3 rooms. Is this realistic?
AaronJB Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Would both South Strip and North Strip be acceptable?$100 or slightly under MAY be possible in South Strip at the 5* level, but I think you're more likely looking for at least a bit over $100 ($110-125) in South Strip and probably more towards the $135-165 +/- area in North Strip.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
lasongman Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 Can someone please give me advice on what a reasonable bid would be for a five star hotel on March 31, 2012 through April 2, 2012? Will the fact that I am booking three rooms help me get a better rate? Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 At current rates I'm guessing a 5* hotel will likely run about $115-$135, but if you let us know your maximum bid we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lasongman Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 I was hoping to get something under $110. It looks like HOTWIRE has The Trump for $97, but I was hoping for a different hotel.
thereuare Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 We will suggest a strategy up to whatever amount you'd like, but you've received two estimate ranges above what you think it will take based upon current prices... let us know your maximum bid and if both Strip North and Strip South are acceptable, and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lasongman Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 What would be a strategy for getting 3 rooms for a $120 maximum bid? South and North strip are acceptable, but we want to avoid the Trump.
thereuare Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 The Trump was last reported in PRICELINE's Strip North Condo so, so you should be able to avoid this property by not including this zone, but you should double check PRICELINE's zone boundaries to ensure that nothing has changed in this area. (if you're not comfortable then only bid the Strip South zone below)At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip North and Strip South...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. lasongman Posted February 14, 2012 Author Report Posted February 14, 2012 I used this method, and while I wasn't able to get a hotel for $120, I was able to get the Aria for $135 (using the board's PRICELINE link, or course). Thanks for the help!
