Priceline Hotel: DC area bidding help

I am new to this forum and the priceline bid,I found many help helpful information here, and very appreciate if someone can help with my problems.

I read some old post that seems most people can get a good bid in DC area. I need book 3/26-3/28 2 nights, and for last couple of dates, the bid price raised to 135 for capitol hills, dupont circle, arlington, georgetown(2), whitehouse, and down to 3 stars, but still failed. I just saw the newest post saying 3/24 stays can get a good deal, anyone can tell what's my problems here?

Also I try to find some hotel info in Crystal city area, any suggestions.

If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.

Rates are date specific, so you might not be able to replicate the wins of others if their dates are different than your own. Even if their dates differ by one day, it can make a big difference, especially in an 'event driven' market such as DC, where rallies, protests, congress in session, government meetings, etc. all have a dramatic effect on hotel rates.

With the above noted, i don't think you're too far from a win. HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel in the GT-Foggy Bottom for $140/nite which has not yet been reported to the board (Pool, Business, Laundry) and a 3.5* in the Dupont Circle zone for $168/nite (with Restaurant, Fitness, Internet, Business, Laundry) which may be the Beacon Hotel, but i'm not certain.

Either of these of interest or are do you want to 1) wait it out and hope for lower rates in the weeks ahead OR 2) increase your maximum bid a little and try again for a 3* or better?

I decided to bid 1 night at a time, here comes:

1st night 3* crystal city $65, but failed to accept the second night extend stay.

2nd night 3* silver spring $60, since we need go North anyway, and have no patient to bid again, so change an area.

I am very happy with the wins, both are hotels by Marriot. I have gained more experiences through the process, and really enjoy the information found in this forum, wish everyone good luck. Thanks very much for your help.
