Priceline Hotel: Hotel close to the Meadowlands

Hi! I'm looking to bid on hotels near the Meadowlands to attend a concert, and I would like to be as close as possible to the Meadowlands and have shuttle service to the arena. Also would like it to be 3 1/2+ stars. Priceline's category is "3 1/2 star, Meadowlands - Rutherford," but the map looks like it could possibly be a bit far from the Meadowlands. Any ideas for landing a hotel close to the stadium? Any idea which hotels would be in this vicinity? Thanks for any tips! :)

Welcome to BetterBidding!

If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.

When you bid on PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose... so you won't be able to target a property within walking distance of the arena/stadium (and i don't think many hotels provide shuttle service). With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.

You may also want to check out our companion site, MAPS and HOTELS.com, which makes it easy to find something near a specific location and easily see how much more/less it would cost to stay closer/further away or go up/down in star rating.

What are the actual dates of your stay? What is your target budget?

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

One of the hotels that looked good is the Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel...

As per above, it doesn't matter which hotel 'looks good', since you can't choose the specific hotel and you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid.

I know this area fairly well and the Renaissance is not really walking distance to the arena/stadium (no easy path other than the highway, afaik). The arena/stadiums are not designed to be walked to (surrounded by highways), although it is done, but you should be very carefuly and do so at your own risk. The following are the closest to the arena/stadium, and at times you may need to walk briefly on a a major trafficed road (Paterson Plank Rd and there are no sidewalks) or highway:

Hampton Inn $124

Residence Inn $169

Fairfield Inn $109

Holiday Inn Express $135

The Sheraton Meadowlowlands is do-able as well, but you'll need to climb up a grassy hill (fairly steep) to reach an overpass to cross over Rte 3.

Another option depending how big of an event this is... there is now a LightRail stop at the Meadowlands, but it's not a regularly scheduled stop and only stops there during major events at the stadium. You might be able to get a 4* on PRICELINE in the Jersey City/Hoboken area (which is much nicer if you're looking for nightlife before/after the show) and take the light rail to the stadium/arena.
