Priceline Hotel: NYC 4* 8/9 to 8/14 MTE & MTW

I and my two teenage sons will be in NYC 8/9 and leaving 8/14. I am looking for a hotel in MTW but will take one in MTE. Definitely want a 4*; also want to stay under $200 (well under, if possible!). I used Priceline once before (with a lot of help) and am feeling a bit unsure about the bidding process. Any help would be most appreciated!

Yes, I am looking for 1 room for the 3 of us. I'm assuming that won't be a problem with the 4* hotels?

In NYC it very well might be!

Not only do some rooms only have one bed... but some can't even fit a rollaway.

You can take a chance (i wouldn't recommend this for a 5 nite stay in NYC) or look at Hotiwre which does allow you to search up to quad occupancy.

If one bed and a pull-out couch works for your needs i recommend the Beekman Tower (it is very east, close to the river) where you can get a 1BR suite for $169/nite. You'll need to search for only 2 people, but all of their 1BR suites have one bed in the BR and a pullout sofa in the LR. The hotel is a converted apartment building so there will be much more space for the three of you and you'll have also have a full kitchen.... REVIEWS are great.

Let us know your thoughts and if the above doesn't work for your plans we'll either help with Priceline (if you choose to risk it) or advise with Hotwire.

I will check out the Beekman but would like advice on Hotwire (which I've never used).

If you do a search on Hotwire for 1 Adult and 2 Children you'll see (at least last nite) that all the prices returned are $200+ and over your budget. You can try your own Hotwire search and if a hotel is returned within your price range that interests you, post the star rating, zone, and amenities shown and we will try to help you identify it.
