Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Orange County (Disneyland - Anaheim South - Orange - Garden Grove) Sheraton Garden Grove-Anaheim South

Wanted disney area for 3 night stop at end of spring break after our 4 night cruise. Started at 62/night; nothing. Used trick I've been using for a few years now before I knew of this site - glad I can share it now - I knew I wanted 3.5 stars of above and the chance of getting that was good past on other posts here. I started looking at the entire orange county area - priceline has it divided into 12 zones. I separately clicked each zone to see what hotel star rating was highest in each. I found 4 other zones besides the disney zones that only had 3 stars or below so I knew I could add those zones to follow up bids and immediately be able to bid again on the disney zones (by adding another zone) but knew I wouldn't get that zone bc there's no hotels at that star rating in those zones - hard to describe but hopefully you get the point. 70

Here's the run-down

Bid 1:

Zone 6 only; 3.5 star $62 - nothing

Bid 2:

Zone 5 & 6: 3.5 star $65 - nothing

Bid 3:

Zone 5, 6, & 1 (didn't want zone 1 at all but knew they didn't have any 3.5 star or higher hotels so I wouldn't get zone 1 - just a way to be able to bid again right away). 3.5 star $68 - nothing

Bid 4:

Zone 5,6,1, & 9 (zones 1 & 9 only bc of above reasoning). 3.5 star $70 - nothing

Bid 5:

Zone 5,6,1,9, & 11 (again, zones 1,9,11 only bc of above). 3.5 star $72/night - bingo!! Won the Sheraton Garden Grove - Anaheim South. 2.5 miles from disney - same street - and $3/day per adult shuttle. Kids 9 and under free.

There's the run down. Hope it helps someone else. Love Priceline. Been using it for over 5 yrs now for 90%+ of my business & personal travel. Glad I now know of this site now and can post and help others too.
