4* Cabo San Lucas All-Inclusive $206; 4/20 - 4/24/12

I noticed that somebody recently posted (just a few days ago) what appeared to be info on the Riu Palace through Hotwire. However, this person didn't post a follow-up after booking and your hotel list says that the hotel "may be" the Riu Palace. Did you ever get a final confirmation? Here are the amenities:

Frustrating for other users, right? Please post a follow-up to your own Hotwire Las Vegas thread with whatever you decided to do for that stay, then reply to this thread and we'll have a look at your post(s) above. ;)

Please keep all posts for this stay in this thread.

Thanks.

The 4* all-inclusive property is a match for the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas so that would be my best guess for this one.

For the 4.5* property in the Corridor, i'm not currently seeing this on a HOTWIRE search for your dates, are you still seeing this on your own search? If so, are you searching HOTWIRE for more than one room or for more than the default 1room/2adult/0children?

Thanks for the help! I must have mixed up the dates since I was playing with different times to go - the 4.5* Corridor hotel will show up for $397/night if you put dates of 2/24 - 2/28/12 since I was deciding between February or April.

I see the 4.5* property now, and while it has not yet been reported to the board, my guess would be Secrets Marquis Los Cabos.

Thanks again. It looks like I'll be traveling in April so that rules out the possible Secrets resort. Booking the Riu Palace from their website isn't too much higher - I wouldn't want to get stuck with a garden view room booking through Hotwire to save less than $200 for the days I'm going to be staying since I want an ocean view. Do you happen to know of instances of being able to upgrade a Hotwire purchase by paying the difference at the hotel (without taking a chance on the $20 trick)?

PRICELINE and HOTWIRE reservations are for 'standard' rooms, so i would expect a Garden View. However, if you're willing to pay for an upgrade, and not looking for a complimentary upgrade, you can try to work something out with the hotel.

I don't know of specific experiences at this particular property, but as hotels are in the business of making money, they're usually somewhat receptive to upgrades for an additional fee. However, a LOT has to do with occupancy levels at the hotel over the dates of your stay, what is available when you check-in, etc... and if the upgrade fee is reasonable. To me 'reasonable' is the current price difference between the room class you booked and the room class you want... anything more than this is 'bad' deal, anything less than this is a 'good' deal.

Congrats on your success. :)

Very nice result for this property, and hope you'll be able to negotiate an upgrade. Please let us know the result and what you decide/if you have questions about the additional nights.

Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.
