ggooden1 Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Got 1 night at the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel on Priceline for $65 USD, the total being $85.44 USD. Is this considered a good deal or is it likely I could've got something cheaper had I initially entered a lower bid?
thereuare Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! While you can't know for certain if this property could have been won for any less for this nite, hotel direct rates start at ~$120 so it would appear to be a very nice deal vs. a conventionally booked room at this property.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. aborg85 Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Hi Ggooden1, considering, that I got the same hotel for $52, yeah you probably bid too high.I suggest that you first check the previous posts on better bidding. Another good idea is to check the prices on pricline (not the name your own price) and see the prices there for the same dates, start you bid around 40% less the prices offered of hotel which typically used by priceline, then increase about $5 each time.Best of luck for next time!
