thenewbie Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 If you're interested in the 5* (Venetian), you should be able to win it for $99 per night on Priceline for 9/5 - 9/7. If you do use priceline, please use the link found up from the "Support BetterBidding" page. Also, some of the hotels on hotwire have more than the 8 amenities listed, so you need to click on the 'view amenities' link to see all of the hotel's amenities.
bogiechad Posted June 21, 2005 Author Report Posted June 21, 2005 Thanks! I did click on view amenities and listed all of them. I have read that priceline customers staying at the venetian get most of the non-requested rooms (ie smoking). Is this true? Will the venetian upgrade it's priceline customers?
thereuare Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rooms are assigned based upon availability at check-in.I know of no problems at the Venetian other than having to pay extra for a room with 2 queen beds (if available)The 5* looks like the Venetian, the 4* North strip looks like the Treasure Island, the 4* South Strip looks like NYNY (both of which can be booked cheaper by using the links in the previous sentence)Would you really consider a 4* hotel at ~$80 when you can likely the a 5* at $99?Let us know what you decide to do or if we can of additional help. bogiechad Posted July 1, 2005 Author Report Posted July 1, 2005 My bid for $99 per night was just accepted on Priceline for 5* hotel. We will be staying at the Venetian from Labor Day, Monday, Sept 5 to Wednesday, Sept 7. The total charges were around $228.00.1st bid, 5*, las vegas strip, $97 - not accepted2nd bid, 5*, las vegas strip and added Fremont st, $99 - acceptedNow, we will have to try the "$20 tip trick" when we check in to see if we can get upgraded. Any other suggestions?
