Very nice result for this property, which is rarely seen as a win. It's not the world's greatest, but Flat Top Grill is about half a block or so away - it's a regional make-your-own-Stir Fry chain that offers good food and is a solid value (in that you can keep going back for more and try different options if you choose to go that route) if you're looking for a place right near the hotel. Flat Top also offers a fairly decent amount of specials if you sign up for their email program. Heaven on Seven (cajun, reviews: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g35805-d428362-Reviews-Heaven_on_Seven_N_Wabash-Chicago_Illinois.html) is also a local institution up the street, and Berghoffs is right nearby. Particularly good for breakfast is Pittsfield Cafe, which is an old-school diner in the Pittsfield Building (55 E Washington; reviews - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g35805-d1025120-Reviews-Pittsfield_Cafe-Chicago_Illinois.html)

We had to postpone this trip for medical reasons. Priceline will refund some of the cost if you give them the specifics -- doctor/hospital names, phone #s, etc. (they keep $25/day, but better than nothing...). And not related here, but Southwest credits 100% of your fare toward future trips, with additional change fees -- a prime reason we fly them whenever their prices, etc. are anywhere near competitive.

I'll post a new win when I get it for our postponed trip.
