ctcamel Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 I first bid at $66 on a 4*, then added 3*.Too bad I didn't end up at the Sheraton, another property at which I've enjoyed priceline stays in the past. :) Oh, well.....win some, lose some.Your Offer Price: $66.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $66.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.93 Total Charges: $81.93
thereuare Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for posting your results and sharing your win with the rest of the board. Although not the hotel you were hoping for, $66 for a $153/nite room isnt' really considered 'losing' :) Once comment about your bidding... it's usually recommended to lower you bid amount when you lower your star quality, as explained in this PRICELINE TIPS thread.Enjoy your stay. ctcamel Posted July 21, 2005 Author Report Posted July 21, 2005 Yes, I certainly saved money, but I wish I'd gotten the Sheraton.....The stay was less than stellar.....the hotel hasn't been renovated for quite some time. When I checked in, the front desk mentioned Priceline and then sent us to an unmade room. When I returned they told me Priceline rooms are preassigned and apologized with free breakfast the next morning (which was a disappointment).Truth be told, this website has simply spoiled me with such great stays in the past at high quality places. I can stand a less than stellar stay once and a while.
