jon007 Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Looking for the Venetian, Palazzo or Wynn for 5/17 (Thursday) - 5/20 (Sunday). The best rates I have found for the Venetian and Palazzo for those dates are: 5/17: $183; 5/18: $199; and 5/19: $239Bid on all three dates together up to $170 using re-bid strategy with no success.Tried splitting my bids by bidding the cheapest dates (5/17 and 5/18) up to $155 with no success. Also tried bidding the two more expensive dates (5/18 and 5/19) up to $185 with no success. Have been using the PRICELINE link on this website.Would welcome any suggestions. Is it too far out to get a lower rate for these dates?
thereuare Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 It may just be a bit early for these dates, and i'm assuming the rates above are refundable up until 2-3 days before check-in? If so, i'd book the above as a cancelable back-up while you continue bidding PRICELINE in the weeks to come. At an average rate of $207 for these nites, i don't think it makes too much sense to go much higher this far ahead of your arrival (and you want to book the back-up to protect yourself from rates moving higher from here). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jon007 Posted February 6, 2012 Author Report Posted February 6, 2012 Thanks for your reply and advice. Do you have any idea when it may be a better time to bid for these dates?
thereuare Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Las Vegas is one of the most volatile hotel markets in the country, and rates can/do change often. As you're 3+ months away, i'd bid twice a week at this point and then more frequently as you get inside of 2 months... but DO book a refundable back-up, as although as per above rates fluctuate a LOT in Vegas, it's not always to the downside, and you want to protect yourself from rates rising from here ;)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress or let us know if we can be of further help along the way.
