Hotwire Hotel: 4* Las Vegas (Strip South) Tropicana Hotel and Casino

Hi. Even though it seems to be relatively unpopular for a 5-star hotel, I WANT Trump International to win my Priceline bid. I couldn't care less about the hotel not being on the strip and not having a casino. The fact that it's an all-suite hotel -- and that every suite has a pullout as well as a king, I was told on the phone -- is key, since I'm going with a friend and having separate places to sleep is a big thing.

Anyway. If I want to target this hotel on Priceline, should I select "Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North - Condo"? Or "Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North"?

What kind of rates have people been able to get there lately? (I want to book March 23-26.) Is there a place on this Website to see what kinds of bids have been winning at different hotels? I could probably go up to $120.

Thanks!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

The Trump has been reported previously as a win in the Strip North Condo zone at the 5* level; you can see the wins that have been previously reported to the board at Betterbidding's Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.

HOTWIRE is showing what appears to be the Trump at $128 per night for these dates; I'd start bidding at $90 and work higher by $5's.

You saying it's generally safe to assume that Trump is the only 5-Star place on Las Vegas Strip - North that offers Hotwire deals?

They didn't accept $90 -- can you recommend a safe way to change my search settings for that particular hotel so I can re-bid $95?

Thanks!

It's a calculated risk... the Trump is the only hotel that has been reported to the board in this zone, but a new hotel can be added or appear at any time.

See Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for information on how to determine your re-bid zones. (HINT: you have ELEVEN re-bid zones when bidding 5* in Las Vegas). If you read the previous link and are still confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you.

Hi. I am new to this and had been kind of assuming that "Las Vegas Vicinity North-Condo" was just Trump. But there's a 4-star option in that category, too. Which hotel / hotels would those be?

Thanks!

Please keep all discussion of this stay within this thread. No hotels have been reported to the board at the 4* level in this zone - and this may be a case where there may not be any hotels at that star rating.

Sorry about not knowing the rules. With 5-star Las Vegas North - Condo it's $143 (clearly Trump), and with 4-star it's $114 -- lower than ANY average hotel price in the 4-star category. When I click "4-star" on Las Vegas Strip Vicinity - South, I get a "median price" of $170 and when I click "4-star" on Las Vegas Strip - North I get a "median price" of $161. This makes no sense.

Worried about bidding on it, although I Googled and found a post from this site from 2010 where a guy bit the bullet and bid and ended up at Trump.

Ultimately, we ended up doing the 4-star hotel for $87 on the South Strip on Hotwire, which, as I anticipated thanks to this forum, was Tropicana. For that price, we're cool with it.
