Priceline Hotel: Bidding Assistance: Palm Bay FL 2/8-2/11

I need to bid for a 2 or 3 night stay in Palm Bay. There is a Quality Inn there where I have stayed before. It is pretty awful and I really want to avoid it.

On some sites, it is listed as a 2*, on others it is a 2.5*. I checked all through the FL Priceline hotel list and a Quality Inn is never higher than a 2*, though this hotel is not listed specifically. Priceline also does not list Quality Inn on their examples of 2.5* for NYOP.

If I bid 2.5* in Palm Bay, do you think I am risking it; that I might get the Quality Inn? Please respond ASAP as I need to get some plans set. Thanks.

I believe PRICELINE currently rates the Quality Inn Palm Bay as a 2* property, as per this link.

There is always a chance that it is rated something different, but this is a risk i would be comfortable with, although you'd have to decide for yourself if it's within your risk tolerance.

You may also want to at least check HOTWIRE for the area and determine what is offered there and if you can be reasonably assured of avoiding the Quality Inn. If it's not too much more than you could likely win on PRICELINE, then it may be worth the extra few dollars.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Expand your search. Does it have to be Palm Bay, because there are a lot more hotel choices in neighboring Melbourne. (The Viera Holiday Inn seems to come up pretty often on Hotwire.)

I agree about the Quality Inn, anyplace getting 6.2/10 for a guest rating would be off my list.

Hi Guys - Thanks for your advice. I bid again @ 52 and was rejected. So then, after reading gushing TA reviews, ended up booking the #1 rated Comfort Suites for $104 on Travelocity. Other sites like PL (retail) had the same hotel for $75. Because Travelocity has a price guarantee that comes with a $50 credit, I invoked it.

Net result: I'll be getting the room for $75 - with what's essentially a $25 credit per night - for a net price of $50 a night. : )

I would have gone to Melbourne if I couldn't find something decent for under $60, but I pretty much made it happen. (Travelocity also had a Secret Hotel that I'm sure was the Jameson Inn for $67 a night.)

Appreciate the help.
