tnvb
Hi everybody,i'm new to this so I might need your help as I've never been to New York and have no idea about hotel rates there! I wanted to book a hotel via Priceline for 6 nights in August. The hotel should be pretty central - the best would be around Times Square (I thought about Central Park South, Chelsea, Empire State, Madison Square Garden, Midtown, Theatre District). What is a realistic price for a 3,5 to 4* hotel? And is it better to include more areas at once or changing the areas if my first bid has been rejected? Thanks ! Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night, and exact date/s of travel? This thread discusses the re-bidding process: re-bidding. Please let us know if you have any questions. The Times Square area, while popular, is also generally the busiest and most expensive. Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
tnvb
The days of travel should be 19th - 25th of August and the desired budget is 120/130$ - if that's realistic! Link to comment
thereuare
At current prices i don't think your budget will likely be enough for a 3.5* or 4*, but this is low season and your stay is 6+ months away, i would think that there is a decent chance that rates some down between now and then. If you wanted to try now anyway, did you only want to try for a 4* up to your limit OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? You may ultimately need to go higher than $130, but $140-$160 would likely be more realistic, but i think that current prices are closer to $180+.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
