Priceline Hotel: NYC - 3,5* april 12th - april 9th

hi

been trying a while to get a 4* hotel but without much luck

would like to get a strategy for 3,5* (that is, if there are enough 3,5* hotels to bid on ?)

i've tried creating one myself but have to admit i'm no good at it :-)

These are my zones:

1st choice: CPS - MTW - ESB - TS

2nd choice: MSG - MTE

rebid-zones: CI - LIC - LES - QBB - UES

pricerange: from 120$ to 160$

edit: reading some other threads we would have a problem with long distances to subways (eg 15 minutes) or very small rooms

I would not include the strikeout zones in your bidding at the 3.5* level given proximity to subway and/or room size. You may also want to exclude MSG as while most rooms at the Affinia Manhattan are 'normal' size (quite large actually) sometimes they assign PRICELINE / HOTWIRE guests the smallest rooms in the hotel which are quite small... you'll then either need to negotiate with the hotel for a more 'standard' room (and possibly pay to upgrade).

rebid-zones: CI - LIC - LES - QBB - UES

You actually have one more re-bid zone... see if you can confirm it with the board.

Given the remaining zones are they all equally acceptable OR did you want to bid one group first up to your limit, then if rejected start over and try for the other zones not included the first time around... OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better in any of the acceptable zones?

we'll keep msg for now but leave that one in 2nd choice

goal is to try and get the cheapest hotel in the first choice zones upto the limit and then go for msg seperately

and you're right: one more rebidzone: msh (harlem)

so :

1st choice: MTW - ESB - TS

2nd choice : MSG

rebid-zones : CI - LIC - LES - QBB - UES - MSH

thanks for the help but we have booked a hotel through booking.com, a very nice on in LIC (vetiver) nearby a subway, penthouse for 906$ for 7 days!
