weeninje Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Hi,I've bid on a hotel in Chicago for Feb 17-20. After I bid $58, the millennium knickerbocker showed up. I clicked book this hotel, confirmed the credit card number, and was then told I didn't get it. From what I read, once the hotel showed up, I thought it was a win--is this not right? Should I keep bidding?
AaronJB Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Did you see the Knickerbocker presented on a screen with other regular rate properties, or did it confirm that you had won ("Congrats...") the property for $58? If you look at your bidding history, does it confirm a win for the bid?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

weeninje Posted February 2, 2012 Author Report Posted February 2, 2012 I swear this happened, but am beginning to doubt my own eyes. Have tried to duplicate by adding non-four-star locations and haven't been able to. I checked my credit card and nothing has shown up, and my trips shows it as unsuccessful. I'll just keep trying.
AaronJB Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Please keep us updated - if it is not showing as successful within your trips, then it (unfortunately) was an unsuccessful bid. Please do let us know if you need assistance with bidding and what you decide.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
weeninje Posted February 2, 2012 Author Report Posted February 2, 2012 Thanks! I just won Marriot Downtown for $70. Not sure about the hotel--assumed I was going to get Millennium knickerbocker from earlier reports, but obviously doesn't work that way. Don't know what happened before.
AaronJB Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)While a little more, this is actually in ways a better result. The Knickerbocker is a fine option with a neat history, but the Marriott is quite a bit more centrally located.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
