thereuare Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!A property with this amenity set has not yet been reported to the board in this zone. I think the Executive Hotel Vintage Court is a likely possibility, but given how common these amenities are i'm far from certain. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide or if we can be of further help. franni49 Posted February 2, 2012 Author Report Posted February 2, 2012 Thanks for your info! I am debating whether I should give bidding on PRICELINE another shot or just get this hotel. Do you guys think this price is good for the location/star rating? :)
thereuare Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 Others on the board are more local to this area then i am, but from what i can tell this property is very well located, but the rooms are somewhat small (not uncommon for a city hotel). It depends what you're looking for from this stay, but i will say that if you're looking at Downtown, rates for higher rated hotels are substantially higher for these dates. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. franni49 Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 Hello all,Have been trying unsuccessfully (using the PRICELINE link, of course) the past two weeks to bid for a 4* for February 26th-29th. Hoping to get a hotel in USE, Financial District/Embarcadero or USW. Seeing the successful bids for around $85-$95 for 4* hotels in these areas, I would ideally like to spend that much as well. Although, I have tried bidding up to $110, still to no avail. I think that ($110 per night) would be my maximum bid. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
thereuare Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 ...I have tried bidding up to $110... I think that ($110 per night) would be my maximum bid.Rates are date specific, so you may not be able to replicate the winning bid of others if their dates are different then your own, as they may have purchased during nites of low occupancy (and thus lower rates) whereas your dates may be during a time of higher occupancy (and therefore higher rates)If you've bid up to your limit there isn't much more you can do except:-raise your budget-lower your star rating-SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID-wait it out and hope for lower rates in the days aheadI did see HOTWIRE has a 3.5* hotel in the USW zone for $119/nite. While a big more than your budget, and a half star lower rated, it does have a very high 95% recommended by previous HOTWIRE guests and a 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating... would this be of any interest? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
