Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Miami (South Beach - Ocean Drive) Edgewater South Beach

Looking for a beachfront hotel on Ocean or Collins in South Beach for the food festival at the end of the month. I felt compelled to get a 3.5* or 4* hotel because a lot of the cheaper hotels in the area are really run down, dirty, there are reports of bed bugs, etc. Spent forever, using your PRICELINE link, rebidding on those two regions (13 and 14) at $2 increments using the re-bid zones 1 3 9 10 15 (cycling through 10 different pairs of zones), got all the way from $200 to $304 and gave up.

Used your HOTWIRE link and noticed there's a 3.5* hotel on Ocean Dr. for $266, which suddenly looked like a good deal after the hours on Priceline. =) Its amenities were Boutique, Beachfront, Smoke Free Rooms, Complimentary Breakfast, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet. I looked at your Hotwire list and saw that it's a perfect match with the Edgewater South Beach, which is conveniently a block away from where my friend will be staying!

And indeed the Edgewater it is. The lowest price I saw for it (on BookIt) was $317 nightly average. I wound up paying $136.22 in taxes and fees for a total of $934.22 for the three nights. The BookIt total would have been $1105.65, so I guess I saved $170. I'm not thrilled with the price, but that's South Beach for ya. This hotel gets excellent reviews so I'm looking forward to my stay.

Hotwire says 3 rooms at this price remain.
