Bidding help - Washington DC to Cancun

I am looking to book a flight on either Priceline or Hotwire from any Washington DC airport to Cancun, from March 11 - 16

I would like some bidding strategies, particularly on a US Airways flight showing up for $528 right now. We can leave any hour on the 11th, and are not picky about return time either.

You can't bid on a specific flight, and you need to be willing to accept at least one connection.

Do you know the ticket breakdown between base fare and taxes/fees? How much would you need to save to make an opaque purchase worthwhile (vs. just taking the US Air flight above?)

A connection is fine. We are looking to spend no more than 350/400 for the flight.

You can get an almost unlimited number of re-bids by using the techniques in this Priceline Airfare Re-Bidding thread. While huge deals on airfare are much more difficult to come by than on hotels, given the number of bidding opportunities, you can start at ~$250 and increase $10/$25 per re-bid until you reach your maximum bid.
