Never used either Priceline or Hotwire, but are the rates and bids for a specific type of room? If you wanted a specific room view or an upgraded room, is that available on bidding or is that something that the hotel will allow you to upgrade to. If you do this at the hotel I would guess they would charge you the full rate, however. Is this correct?

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

PRICELINE and HOTWIRE rates are for regular/non-upgraded rooms given the discounted rates, and it is recommended to expect that going in. One can inquire about upgrades before arrival or at arrival and the hotel could say no. Or, they could offer an upgrade, or charge for an upgrade (generally the difference between a regular rate room and an upgrade room, although it can vary.) There is no way to know, and it may vary at the hotel depending on availability for those dates or who you speak with.

If you need a particular upgrade, then either service is not a good choice, as there is definitely no guarantee that the hotel will even be willing to offer an upgrade, given the discounted rate paid.

If you would like assistance, please tell us about your stay: city, desired zone, star rating, budget per night.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
