Pickett Posted January 31, 2012 Author Report Posted January 31, 2012 San Juan, PR 3/12/12 - 3/17/12Looking to go the resort route and wondering what I should bid. My budget is around $150/nightAlso, it appears there is only one 4* on the Priceline list. If so, can I pretty much guarantee I will get that hotel if I bid for the 4*? Any ideas what I should bid for the La Concha? Thanks
toledo Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Unfortunately, it's not that simple. If you bid 4*, Priceline can "upgrade" you to resort. This just happened recently. Someone reported getting the Conrad. You need to be prepared to get La Concha or any of the resorts in the San Juan area. There are at least 4, but most of the wins lately have been the Conrad. If your budget is $150, I wouldn't bid over $110, as they add a resort fee, a priceline fee, and parking fees. The good news is that I believe most of the winning La Concha bids have been around $90.
thereuare Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. As per toledo's post, the star rating you select is the minimum that you're willing to accept, so your 4* bid could always be upgraded to a higher rated property. The HOTWIRE property above matches previous reports for the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino so that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes OR how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
