I was hoping to identify the Doubletree Guest Suites as a NYC Times Square Hotwire Option for a 3/23/12 stay, but only two 4* choices come up in Times Square and neither of them list Suite as an amenity. Is there any chance the one of them still may be the DoubleTree? We are traveling with two kids ... Thanks for any thoughts you can provide ....

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Only one property shows up at each star rating for any set of dates in a particular zone on HOTWIRE; unfortunately, the Doubletree (which is also not seen terribly frequently on HOTWIRE) may not be available for these dates.

Are you primarily interested in a suite? Additionally, would TS be the only zone of interest? Let us know more about what you are looking for and we would be happy to help.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. Yes, after I posted, I noticed one of the hotels was actually a 4.5* and likely the Intercontinental. We do want to stick with a hotel that has the ability to shut a door or have our kids somewhat separated. We are somewhat flexible on area, but my son really wants to see Times Square so I thought it would be nice to stay there, not that I have ever stayed in that area before. Is also convenient to pier as we are leaving on cruise the next day. I am definitely open to other suggestions, but not having us all in one open room is key.

We do want to stick with a hotel that has the ability to shut a door or have our kids somewhat separated.

This is going to be very difficult to accomplish thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE... especially in NYC where space is at a premium and there are very few hotels where standard rooms offer separate room accommodations.

You may also want to try our companion site Pre Cruise Hotels which will allow you to search for quad occupancy and easily see hotels that are near the pier (or time square for that matter) and see how much more/less it would cost to go stay closer/further away or higher/lower in star rating.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

It's your stay, trip and budget, but i think you can do better than $400/nite for the Doubletree (please check for and use the links in our Support Page for your hotel direct purchases where have links to the Doubletree as well as most other major hotel chains and online booking agencies).

For $400 you could get TWO rooms at a 4* hotel on PRICELINE (perhaps not directly in Times Square) but you're paying a high price for this location, imo.

Keep us updated on any changes or let us know if we can be of further help.

I know I could get a better price with a lot of other hotels, but they would not have the separate sitting room with the pull out couch. I know that is what we are paying for. I will continue to check HOTWIRE link through Better Bidding to see if Doubletree might show up. Thanks!
