STLstone Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 After clicking the PRICELINE link at the top of the page, I used the re-bidding methods described on this site. Even so, it still took a couple of days to get to a winning price. I started around $50 dollars and after a few days of using the 6 re-bid zones, I finally had success just under the max I was hoping to spend ($85).It's not quite as good of a deal as I've seen others post about, but it may just be a more expensive weekend for some reason, I guess. Or maybe booking so far out doesn't lend itself to the best deal - I'm still learning obviously...Thanks for all the info on this site. Through advertising, I was aware of Priceline for years, but I never really knew you could actually get such good deals. And I likely never would have tried using it if this site hadn't given me all the pointers I needed. Now that I know how easy and affordable it can be to get a hotel room, I might even consider traveling more!I'll be arriving at Union Station by train after 8 pm on 4/27. Is a cab probably the best option for getting to the hotel or is there any other suggestion?
AaronJB Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Good deal for this boutique property - there's a very nice Whole Foods a couple of blocks due East for snacks/drinks nearby. This period (which starts to get more into Spring) will be busier/more expensive overall than now (which, given the temps, is the slowest period of the year.)If you are getting in later in the evening, I'd suggest taking a cab - it should definitely not be too bad a cab ride.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
