Aussie-chick Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 Hi,I am looking to place a bid for a 4* Hollywood hotel in July this year (early i know) i've been reviewing the winning bids and the only ones that are coming through are for the W Hollywood. I've read that Hollywood Roosevelt and the Reneissance are also on Priceline, but why hasn't there been any recorded wins??Any help would be great!
AaronJB Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The list of properties in the zone that have been reported to the board can be found here: Priceline Hotel List. Other properties than the W have been reported at the 4* level in this zone, but the W has come up more lately. In general with PRICELINE, there may be properties that appear on the service often, hardly ever and in-between (may appear a lot for a while, then not for a long time; one hotel could appear frequently, then someone can be surprised by winning a different one.)Are you only interested in the W? What would be your desired budget per night and date/s of travel?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Aussie-chick Posted January 29, 2012 Author Report Posted January 29, 2012 I was looking at staying 29th June for four nights, i think my preference would be for either the Roosevelt or Renaissance, However i don't think i would be too disapointed with the W. I was hoping to only spend max $150 per night, is that a realistic bid for that time of year? How are my chances by bidding early?
thereuare Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
