cristenen Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 Our really good friends decided to run off to Hawaii and get married next week which puts us in a real bind. We paid quite a bit for airfare so we are hoping to cut back on the hotel cost but still be able to enjoy ourselves at a hotel right on Waikiki Beach. Our friends will be staying at the Waikiki Marriot Beach which we can't afford. I'm looking for some advice on how much I am realistically looking to spend for a 4* or higher over a course of 3 nights.I'd love to be in the Outrigger but it's probably not within our price range. I'm thinking a max of $150 a night since we are planning our own wedding right now.
thereuare Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 If you're looking to stay directly in the Waikiki Beach zone, based upon current rates i'm guessing that you're probably looking at~$150-$165.If you want to get started by trying up to $150, at the 4* level in this region you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (NOTE: Ko Olina is not one of them)Select 4* Waikiki Beach...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected let us know if you'd like to increase your budget, lower your star rating, or consider other nearby zones. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
zellion2000 Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 My friend just booked with the same criteria. If you select the three zones in Waikiki Beach and select 4 star, you can put in a bid of $120/night and it will accept it. My friend didn't tell me which 4 star hotel he ended up with though.
