robinbtravel Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 We're going to a swim meet in Kenosha, WI and I failed at 2 Priceline bids in the Kenosha area (2.5* $45 & $50) so I tried Hotwire in Gurnee, IL. Got the Hawthorn Suites which is about 20 minutes from the pool. Too bad we'll probably be out of the hotel before breakfast is served. Darn those early morning warm ups! I used the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link to bid.Best available rate: $85.Amenities:SuiteGuest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free.Complimentary BreakfastFitness CenterPool(s)Business CenterLaundry Facilities (self-service)High-Speed Internet AccessRate per night:$49.00Nights: 1Rooms: 1Tax recovery charges & fees: $11.47Subtotal: $60.47Trip total: $60.47
thereuare Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Too bad you'll be out the door before breakfast and won't be able to take advantage of this amenity, but hopefully the rest of your stay will go well and even without breakfast this will prove to be a good deal and value. Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay. robinbtravel Posted January 27, 2012 Author Report Posted January 27, 2012 It's definitely a good value! My back-up was a room at the Holiday Inn Pleasant Prairie for $103. I'm very happy to drive 35 minutes out of my way (25 past the Holiday Inn into Illinois and then 10 extra to the pool in the morning) to save $56 with taxes and fees. Plus, I probably wouldn't be able to eat at the HI either.
thereuare Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 Glad to see you're happy with the purchase :)Good luck to your team at the swim meet. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
