Priceline Hotel: I Need Help (Newbie Here)

I will be in Denver on 3/30/12-4/5/12 I need to stay in Downtown Denver and looking for anything within walking distance to the Colorado Convention Center. I have never made a bid before and I don't have the money to mess up or be somewhere that will require frequent cab fare etc. In other words I'm on an extreme budget and can't afford the $1,500-2,000 total, I've been noticing on all these hotel sites, but just wanted to know what is the best bid for a hotel in the area, I would like a 3.5 or 4* star room and free internet is needed. Whatever you can do to assist me I will be forever in your debt.

When using PRICELINE you can't choose the exact location of the hotel you will receive. You need to be willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone(s) that you choose. If you use the PRICELINE search box on the top right corner of this page and enter your dates and location, if you look at the downtown zone on the map on the ensuing page, are you able to accept a hotel anywhere within this shaded region?

If not, HOTWIRE may still be an option as you can often take a guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities shown before your purchase. With this information you can then also take an educated guess as to the location, but again, no guarantees and you'll have to be 'fairly confident' that you've identified the hotel offered. Also check the zone boundaries of the zone on HOTWIRE as they may be slightly different than PRICELINE's, and one may give you more/less control than the other in determining exactly where your hotel may possibly be.
