rhinoginger
(First post! Love the site, have used it many times and now want to add information myself. Thanks everyone!)Searched for a three night stay in Providence, Rhode Island. 10/4/05-10/7/05. Visiting Providence and Newport. Due to many negative reviews on tripadvisor and other sites of the hotels in the area, I was definitely shooting for a 4* hotel in Providence itself.Bidding strategy:$75 Downtown, failed. Added Warwick-Airport, retried at $80, failed. Added West Warwick, retried at $90, failed. Finally added Providence East, retried at $100, successful bid.Since the only 4* currently is in Downtown, the other zones are free re-bids. I was hoping to get the room at not more than $100/night, so it worked out. Maybe could have gotten it in the $91-99 range, but who knows.Westin website currently lists rooms at $279/night as cheapest rate, so all in all a great deal I suppose. Link to comment
