AEmgee Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 Just completed a one night stay on June 25. The winning bid was $32 - incredible! I've stayed previously at the 2.5* Courtyard by Marriott and the 2.5* Residence Inn in this zone and hands down the Hilton Garden Inn was the best. I've yet to try the Wingate Inn though! The hotel is located in Beaverton just off the freeway and is flanked by several other hotels, including a Fairfield Inn. There is an Elmer's down the block as well as a Salad Buffet. Upon check-in, the clerk did mention that I had booked through Priceline, but not in a condescending way. I had called weeks ahead and asked for a king non-smoking room and was assigned room 238, which was the room type as requested. I had sent two packages to the hotel (save on sales tax) and I was brought the packages without even asking. One package had been thrown around by UPS and the clerk offered packing tape and scissors to repair it. She gave us a hand-drawn map of the area restaurants and we ended up eating at Chang's Mongolian Grill. The hotel is very close to 185th Street with all its stores, including the new Streets of Tanasbourne outdoor shopping complex. It's also convenient to go into Portland downtown, assuming one does not run into traffic on Highway 26! Parking was free and ample.Adjacent to the lobby is a business center with two computers, printer, fax, and a large copier. Also on the first floor was a small pool and hot tub and an exercise facility with one treadmill, one stairmaster, one stationary bicycle and a universal gym.The room itself was clean but not that new in appearance. There was both a fridge and a microwave, which was very convenient. The toiletries were by Neutrogena and included shampoo, conditioner, and even Listermint! The hairdryer worked well. The showerhead could have had better water pressure. Wired high-speed Internet was complimentary (I brought my own Ethernet cable). All in all, this was a fantastic win at only $32 and I hope I can stay at this property again.
