angiepv Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Hi!!I'm going on a first anniversary trip to Las Vegas on April, we've never used priceline or hotwire but are looking for a 4-5* CASINO hotel ON THE STRIP. We've read that for Vegas is not very recomended to bid and rather go for something safe so can we get something good? how do i start? tips? Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and happy anniversary )To get started, what is your expected budget (per nite before taxes/fees) for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
angiepv Posted January 25, 2012 Author Report Posted January 25, 2012 Thanks :)!! I'd like to go somewhere along 85 - 100 for 4* and 90 - 130 for 5* at most without fees. Would love something like Cosmopolitan, Wynn, Encore or Venetian for the 5* deal or Planet Hollywood, Mirage or Ceasars for the 4* deal. Is there a way to avoid Treasure Island, or Flamingo?
thereuare Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Rates are not high for these dates and you should be able to get a 5* hotel on the Strip within your budget. HOWEVER, note that the Vdara is a 5* hotel on the strip but does not have a casino (although the Aria's casino is just steps away)... would this be acceptable? If you'd like to ensure a casino, hotwire has a 5* hotel in the Strip South zone with: Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business... for $120/nite (your price may differ by a few dollars) and for this my best guess is the Aria.Would you like to go with this HOTWIRE offer OR bid on PRICELINE and accept any 5* hotel in the zone(s) that you've selected? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
angiepv Posted January 25, 2012 Author Report Posted January 25, 2012 Thanks for the links!!I think i'll try the priceline first and let you know how that goes.Question: How much would you calculate i'll have to pay extra for fees & taxes?
AaronJB Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 During the check-out process, the added tax/fees will also be shown before you finalize your purchase. If the property does have an added resort fee, that will not be shown and will have to be paid at check-in.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 If you'd like help with a specific strategy let us know your updated maximum bid (i'm assuming it's less than $130 given HOTWIRE's $120 rate for a 4* property) and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.I'm assuming Strip North and Strip South are both acceptable? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
