slater195 Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Spent several weeks checking prices and getting too chicken to book a room, with the very real fear of sick kids or a weekend too icy/snowy to want to make the drive. As I watched hotel rooms come and go, and prices creep up, I finally decided to take the plunge. Bid $53 for a 3-star and was rejected. Bid $55 for a 3.5-star and was countered at $68. With the prevailing logic that splitting the difference would get me the room, I decided $63 was more than I wanted to pay for a 3- or 3.5-star hotel and tried a 4-star at 60. Got it on the first try, so I wonder if I left something on the table, but still a good price for a good location. I'm a little skeeved out about the recent murder there, but as it's stated on this website, it wasn't a random act, so I guess I'm as safe there as I am anywhere. Thanks to this website for again helping me decipher what all the possibilities could be. This hotel wouldn't have been my first choice, but it's a good location for the places we want to visit, and I'm sure it will fit our needs just fine.
