thatgirlck Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Hi - I will be visiting Boston on April 30-May 5 and I'm looking for a 4-star hotel within 1/2 mile of Quincy Market for 2 people (1 queen or king size bed).2 questions:1. There's a Hotwire Quincy Market - Financial District area hotel: 4 stars; 4/5 on TripAdvisor; amenities = Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access for $213. What hotel do you think this might be? I'm hoping for Hilton Downtown/Financial District, Omni Parker House or Millennium Bostonian, but don't want Hyatt Regency or W Boston.2. Do you think I could get a lower rate for what I'm looking for on Priceline? Hotels seem to be around $250+ right now.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding! These amenities are common for a city hotel, and the Hilton Financial, Millenium Bostonian, Nine Zero and Omni Parker House have all been seen with this amenity set, so any of these would be a likely outcome for this one. There are of course no guarantees, and while i don't think the Hyatt is a likely outcome for this one, the W Hotel has not yet been reported to the board so there is no telling if that property would be 4* rated thru HOTWIRE, have these amenities, or if that property even participates with HOTWIRE.PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but with PRICELINE there is no way to take a guess as to the hotel you may receive, you have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. thatgirlck Posted January 25, 2012 Author Report Posted January 25, 2012 I just booked the Hotwire hotel and it did end up being the Omni Parker House. Thanks so much for the help!
thereuare Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received one of the hotels guessed, and more importantly, were able to avoid the hotel you didn't want.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. You can call the hotel and request a room with two beds to beds, although usually they'll state that they'll make a note on the reservation but your room won't actually be assigned until check-in based upon availability. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
