thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! Hope you're pleased with the results and this property works well for your plans. Do note that food onsite at this property is EXPENSIVE, so you may want to try and pick up some snacks and such at a local store nearby. Also, the local bus (which is more like a van than a bus) stops in front of this hotel and will take you to 'downtown' near the cruise port and straw market. I forget how much the bus is, but it's VERY INEXPENSIVE relative to a taxi.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. REL
Last time I was there it was 1.25 (or something) maybe more now but significantly cheaper vs. a cab which I think is $10+ no matter where you go. Link to comment
thereuare
That $1.25 taxi fare sounds about right... but i think the taxi was something like $35 from the cruise port to the hotel.I actually really enjoy taking public buses in most places i visit as it immerses you in with the locals and you can learn a lot (things you won't read in a tourist book) just by talking with them, being friendly, and interested in their culture/history. (most memorable was in Barbados where we were at the hectic bus depot and as soon as the bus pulled away the radio goes blaring with local island music... things you just don't experience here in the States where the bus system is a bit more 'formal') Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
