username1 Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 In looking at semi-recent priceline wins for 4* downtown Charleston, SC it looks like the French Quarter Inn was most recently won for $145 and has historically (looking back through the wins thread) has been won most often. - What do you think my chances are of getting the French Quarter Inn for a Priceline bid for a stay in early Feb?- Should I start my bidding at the last winning bid of $145?Thanks for any advice - and I will use your PRICELINE link when making my bid of coarse!
username1 Posted January 21, 2012 Author Report Posted January 21, 2012 Ok well I crossed my fingers and just started bidding.....I ended up with the French Quarter Inn (like I wanted) for $176 / night Feb 2 - 5. Total for three nights plus fees and taxes is $628. The cheapest rate listed on the hotel's website is $262 / night plus taxes for a three night total of $896. Savings = $268.I started bidding with $130 and then kept adding areas except for Isle of Palms (the only other area with 4* option) for 8 additional bids until I got to $176. Was hoping to get it for less, but I ended up with the hotel I wanted so I am pleased. Thanks!
