The I bid $155 for 4* (MTE & MTW) also rejected. I saw people were getting 4* in ths region for $145 to $150. Am I bidding to early. What do you suggest. I am in no great hurry to get the room. By the way I love this site. Great info for priceline bidders.Richmort
thereuare Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! It is probably just early, although this is on the 'cusp' of when rates start to firm up a bit (it's usually after Thanksgiving, but getting earlier and earlier each year). However, i think you should have a bit more of a bidding 'strategy'.What is your maximum bid at this time? Are MTE and MTW the only two zones that you're willing to accept (why not UM/CPS?)Let us know and we'll suggest a gameplan for you to follow. richmort Posted June 29, 2005 Author Report Posted June 29, 2005 Maximum price I would like to pay is in the low $200's but would prefer to pay less of course. Not agaist UM/CPS but we would prefer a shorter walk to times square and theater district. With plenty of time I thought before we are going I thought I could add UM/CPS latter. Thanks for your help.
richmort Posted June 29, 2005 Author Report Posted June 29, 2005 Ignore the poor grammer on my last post but I think you get the idea.
thereuare Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 I do understand.... so are you not ready/willing to add the UM/CPS zone now?Are you willing to go as high as $200 now? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
richmort Posted June 29, 2005 Author Report Posted June 29, 2005 I could be willing to add the UM/CPS zone and pay $200 per night. But I thought with plenty of time I could bid in increments, get the zone I would prefer and maybe pay less. Is this a bad strategy.richmort
thereuare Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 It's not a bad strategy, but i would give yourself a timeline as to when you will increase your bid and when you will add other zones. If you don't have a back-up i recommend the Beekman Tower which has 1BR suites for $215/nite. This rate is cancellable up to 72 hours before check-in date and the reviews are great.
