emeadows81 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 My wife and I are traveling to New York City for the first time this Spring. We have used Priceline bidding to win a few great deals on hotels in places that we know well, but never somewhere as unknown as NYC, which bothers my wife more than I. With that said, we need a room from 4/10 through 4/13 in or near Times Square. Location is flexible as long as we are in Midtown in a good area. Four star preferred, as the 3 star options seem to have very mixed reviews. Trying to stay under $200. Have a few weeks to work on a deal, so there is no big rush. Please help!
thereuare Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. You can probably get a 4* hotel close to your maximum bid price of $200 if you're willing to include the 'main' midtown zones: MTE, MTW, CPS, TS and ESB... are all of these acceptable? Please confirm and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Thanks! emeadows81 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Report Posted January 19, 2012 All of these areas should work, with Times Square being the most desirable.
thereuare Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 ...with Times Square being the most desirable. Are you willing to pay more to be in the Times Square zone vs. the other acceptable zones OR is your goal the least expensive 4* or better? Also, if you haven't seen it, see our comments on Hotels Near Times Square. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. emeadows81 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Report Posted January 19, 2012 I see what the post is getting at. Our plans are taking us all over the island, and we are probably getting hop on and off passes for the tour busses, so that really helps my decision. Any good deal in the Midtown area should work.
