imikez31 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Booked two rooms at the Palazzo for $150/night. A similar date had it for $131(I guess the rates are lower if you book more nights). Started bid at $135, rejected, bid at $140, $145, 147, then finally accepted at $150. I'd say not bad still considering the regular rate is $229 for that particular night. On a side note, I know the reservation would be for a room with a king bed, but does anyone have any experience on requesting 2 beds for this hotel after bidding? Thanks in advance.
AaronJB Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Terrific deal for the Palazzo; hope you are looking forward to your stay.If you do need two beds, I would definitely call in advance and see if you can put in a request.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Rooms at the Palazzo with two beds are considered an upgrade and thru traditional booking channels cost more than a room with just one King bed. Stated policy is an extra $35/nite for an upgraded room with two beds... some guests (even on PRICELINE and HOTWIRE) are charged the upgrade fee while others have had their requests honored just by asking. It's up to you whether the additional cost is worth upgrading or not... if so, i'd call in advance and request a room with two beds; if not, this property is an exception to the rule (since their 'standard' room is for only one bed and two beds is considered an upgrade) and i'd wait and ask at check-in, hoping that it would be at no charge. If you're not willing to pay extra and/or are unable to upgrade, all the rooms here have a very large 'L shaped' couch which should be enough space to sleep on in a pinch, and most of these are pullout sofabeds as well. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. keypsmilin Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 I stayed at the Palazzo a few weeks ago after booking on priceline with the help of this forum. I requested two queens at the front desk when I checked in. They explained that usually there is an additional charge for that room, but gave me the upgrade at no additional charge. I know that this is not guaranteed and really depends on their availability and the "niceness" of the person you get at the front desk. I just wanted to let you know that it is possible :) Good luck!
