What a great website - just read an article about you guys and am really impressed with the advice offered. So hear goes my question:

I am looking for accommodation in NYC for Monday to Friday each week from 30 Jan ending end of February. I would like something as cheap as possible for 2 star or 2.5 stars (max $55 a night but less if poss.) I dont mind too much about location - as long as it is near a subway station with easy access into central Manhattan.

Advice much appreciated

Thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I dont mind too much about location - as long as it is near a subway station with easy access into central Manhattan.

Look at the location of the Millennium UN which is one example of a hotel in the MTE zone that can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway... would this be acceptable? As well, the Hudson Hotel (in the CPS) is a 'known' hotel that has very small rooms, even by NYC standards (~140 sq. ft), would this be acceptable?

Please go to PRICELINE using the search box on the top right of this page and list the PRICELINE zones you're willing to accept, we'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Also, are you willing to pay more for a 2.5* vs. a 2* OR is your goal the least expensive 2* or better for these trips?

Hi I would like to follow up - I would be happy with both hotels you suggested - Millenium UN, and Hudson Hotel. Would you have a strategy on how to get this hotel - I will book for approx 6 weeks Mon-Fri.

Thanks

No, there is no strategy for those specific hotels, i was just pointing out some of the hotels which some users take issues with for the reasons cited.

Hi I am happy with all of the zones except Bronx and Long Island.

These are not PRICELINE zones within Manhattan region.

Please search as follows, and let us know which zones, by PRICELINE name, you're willing to accept (and please mention the zones you'll accept rather than listing the ones you won't accept):

Hi I would like a 2 star or 2.5 stars, checking in Monday night leaving Friday night from next week and through to the end of Feb in NYC.

I am willing to pay more for a 2.5 star hotel.

The zones that are good for me are Long Island City, Upper Manhattan, Chelsea-Village, Soho, Wall Street, Mid East and Mid West.

Advice on a strategy much appreciated

Ok got it

I would like a 2.5 star or 3 star between Mondays and Fridays until end of Feb and wanted to figure out the best strategy. I am willing to pay extra for a 3 star (depending on how much extra) and was wandering also if it made sense to buy all of the weeks now or wait week by week.

Zones I am happy with are:

3 Chelsea Area – detail map Best deal

5 Downtown - Financial District – detail map Best deal
