brg Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Went to PRICELINE through this site and booked the W in Hoboken for $105. 3/16-3/19 (St.Patricks weekend)Second time I've used this site to book in Jersey City. Thanks
thereuare Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! An excellent deal for this property and at a fraction of what NYC will likely cost for these dates. Traditionally Hoboken had it's own St Patricks Day Parade on the first Saturday of March (so as to not have to compete for people to March in the parade) but it turned into such a drinking fest (since there was no other competition for party-goers on this day either) that, in a very controversial move, they canceled it this year.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. brg Posted January 30, 2012 Author Report Posted January 30, 2012 I booked 2 rooms through priceline for the W for 3-16 thru 3-19 for $105 about 2 weeks ago and now I need another room. Do you think if I bid again I will get the W again or do you think I will get the Westin or Hyatt? Trying to figure out if I should try again or just go through the W and pay double what I paid. Thanks
thereuare Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 Unfortunately there really is no way to know if you'll get the same hotel or not. However, the longer the time passes since your first bid the lower your chances get, as your chances also decrease if you're changing any aspect of your bid (check-in or check-out date, lower bid amount, etc)Sorry can't offer any additional insight as to which 4* property in the zone you may get by bidding again. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. brg Posted January 31, 2012 Author Report Posted January 31, 2012 Any idea which hotel might be for a 3.5 star hotel in Jersey City on priceline?
thereuare Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Although one of the 3 star properties could be upgraded at any time, or one of the 4* hotels could be downgraded, i'd speculate that there are currently no 3.5* hotels offered in this zone. I know that PRICELINE indicates that they have bidding available at this star rating in the zone (and perhaps anything 'won' at this star level would be upgraded to 4*), but i would not use it as a re-bid unless you were willing to accept some 3.5* hotel anywhere in the zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
