Canadajullie Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Hello,I am wondering if anyone has any insight on what this hotel may be ?? It makes a difference to us because we are a family of 5 and often times, hotels cannot accomodate that many oer room. I am not seeing the Hyatt as listed on the Hotwire list but I am hoping someone thinks that this is what it is...3* Houston Aldine Bush Intercontinental are72$ (Down from 114$)PoolComplimentary breakfastHigh speed internetRecommended by 95%Using Hotwires named hotel list, around the same price (114$), it might be the Hyatt (112$), the Hilton Garden Inn (129$), Holiday Inn (143$), Homewood suites (98$). The Springhill suites is also a 3* but the price is listed as 195$ so I didnt think that was it... The Residence Inn and the Park Inn have the right price but the reviews are only average so I'm not sure if that means recommended by 95%...They all have pools... I assume they all have high speed internet but the breakfast is throwing me off...On the Hyatt website, they offer a complimentary breakfast but on Hotwire it says surcharge. The Hilton and Homewood also says surcharge but I dont know if they offer it free or not. No mention of breakfast on the Holiday inn on Hotwires page. The review part has me confused too. Recommended by 95%... these hotels all have "average to very good" Any help is appreciated ! Travelling with 5 is a challenge, not to mention expensive so any money saved is good - but we have to be able to cram all of us in a room for it to work out !Thanks Julie

Canadajullie Posted January 17, 2012 Author Report Posted January 17, 2012 Oops, forgot to put the dates... 1 night, March 11 2012, We are 2 adults, 3 kids (9, 12, 13) however the max Hotwire lets you enter is 4 - so I entered that...I got the rates through the HOTWIRE link - 72$ThanksJulie
thereuare Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 This property has not yet been reported to the board. I do see a 3.5* when searching 2adults/2children which is higher rated and about $10 cheaper, but doesn't include breakfast, if that is what attracted you to the previous property. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Canadajullie Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 The 3.5* I figured were likely the Crowne Plaza or the Sheraton - I called both of them and was told they do not have roll away beds and that 4 was the max per room so I crossed them off the list... That's why I went towards the 3* hoping it would be the Hyatt but since there are too many other possibilities that don't accept 5 people, I think I'll be stuck with just booking the Hyatt at regular price unless someone here reports a win and it turns out the be what I am looking forMany thanks for all your help !!
thereuare Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 How much is regular price at the Hyatt? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Canadajullie Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 112$ on Expedia.Just got an email from Hotwire saying that the price had dropped to 59$ for that hotel. Man ! I'm dying to know what it is !! but don't want to chance being stuck with something we can't use for lack of beds...Funny thing - I clicked on the link from the email, I figured I'd go see if the price of the Hyatt on the 'named' hotels had dropped also - and it's not even there anymore !!??
thereuare Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Funny thing - I clicked on the link from the email...As per the welcome message in your INBOX we ask that you don't click the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links in any emails, but instead return here and use the links on the board :(112$ on ExpediaI'd bet that rate isn't for 5 people either. If you search HOTWIRE for 2rooms/2adults/3children there is a 3.5* property offered for $58/nite (your price may differ by a few dollars)... this is just about the same price as a hotel direct booking, but you'll get two rooms (which also means two bathrooms for getting ready in the morning) and much more space for just about the same price... and you don't have to worry about the occupancy issue since you're including everyone you need in the search. You can call the hotel after you receive teh same of the property and request adjoining rooms, but there is no guarantee the hotel will be able to accommodate your request (or that they even have connecting rooms). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
