steveberg Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 I am looking to bid on a 4 star hotel for the los angeles area for the weekend of march 16-18. What areas or best to bid on to get a good rate? It says lax average retail is 109 so that diesnt sound bad. Looking to spend 70-80 per night.

thereuare Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 At the 4* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(note that Santa Monica is part of the larger 'Santa Monica-Marina Del Rey' zone so you'll need be to accepting of anything in the zone, including MDR, if you include this zone in your bidding)Select 4* LAX and Downtown...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Santa Monica-Marina del Rey...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* LAX and Downtown and Santa Monica-Marina del Rey...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. steveberg Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 I actually tried burbank and pasadena up to 80 and still no luck. At this point I'm just going to wait it out and keep trying because im confident I can get it for 80 if i keep trying. It is two months before and usually If you book right before that's when you get the best rate. It could backfire on me but we'll see.
