HNL car rental feb 13 - 16

Hi,

I have been trying to bid for a car from 02/13/2012 to 02/16/2012 at the HNL airport. I have bid up to $19 for a compact/ecomony car and I have no luck and $20 for midsize. How much should I aim it for?

I have used the PRICELINE link below and slowly bid up to $21 for compact and $22 for midsize car. However, I was rejected.

I don't know why but rates are quite high for these dates... perhaps some romantics taking a quick trip to Hawaii for Valentine's Day??

At the moment it appears that you'll need to be close to $30, or more, for an economy/compact car.

Do you need a car for every day of this trip or is it possible to rent a car locally only on the day(s) you need it? (which an also help save on parking, assuming you're staying in Waikiki or some place with similar high parking charges)
